Needed:Chinese Delivery in North Austin

tdombrow Nov 7, 2011 10:48 AM

I'm deathly ill (Most likely the plague or some horrible lung gremlin) and I'm desperate for Chinese food. I feel that it might be the only thing that could heal me. Of course I am incapacitated and therefore unwilling to drive and get it. Any suggestions on someone who could delver the sweet sweet relief of delicious Low Mein and maybe some crab rangoon?

    Hey tdombrow-
Are you alive? Did you find any Chinese food to help you survive?

      Great thread Tdombrow!

Anyone have any luck with decent Chinese delivery in the Burnet / Ohlen / 183 zone?

It looks like Shu-Shu on N. Burnet can work out a deal with you while they get their own delivery set up.

I was going to mention Shu Shu. I thought that they already were delivering - not totally sure. They have a good appetizer (lettuce wraps). I wish they'd step up th menu. One thing that I found was that their online menu isn't up to date. I called in an order for pickup. I would have ordered the Chinese Curry.

Oh, sure - so you want to give your plague to some innocent delivery guy, who then delivers it to 30-40 other customers a day.

I'm kidding, of course. But somebody did seriously use this same argument on me once when I posted something similar. So I thought I'd beat somebody else to the "punch" ;-)

I just had a thought. Depending on how close to the Pville border you are Great Wall Express might deliver to you. They are on 685 just a little bit past HEB and we used to get their food weekly. Their # is 990-0411.

Rice Bowl Cafe offers deliver through eat24hours.com, which take a $3 fee. A bit slow in my experience, but well worth the wait for sinus-clearing Szechuan Beef Noodle Soup and the like.

                  that was my question too.

i'm in waaaaaaay north austin, and i like egg roll express for my chinese food delivery needs.
they do charge $3 delivery, which you find a lot in this area.
haven't had the lo mein, but their crab rangoon is really cheap.
they also have a dinner special where you can add on a soup and a few things for cheap.
i usually get the wonton soup--the broth is bland, but the pork dumpling is huge.

Thanks for the Tip. I'm in super north Austin as well. Actually, across the street from Pflugerville, literally. I'll have to check them out. I'm willing to pay a delivery fee if it means not having to change out of my sweat pants. :)

                      Good luck tdombrow!
I lived around Palmer/Yager/Dessau area for 15 years (moved to Vegas last year) and never found anything to deliver except crappy pizza! There was a Chinese place I heard of on Cameron right around 290 that delivered to our neighborhood but my son had it at a friend's one night and said it was horrible. And I did raise my son to know Chinese food!
Good luck, hope you feel better.

I'm pretty sure that Food Shui at Parmer/Metric delivers. Not anything special, but it might do the trick. Otherwise, I'd try to convince a friend to pick up Ho Ho and deliver it to you.

they didn't used to deliver, but maybe that is new?

i like their thai basil bowl with misc. proteins; i hold the jalapenos and carrots.
no MSG, super fast food, fresh ingredients, and microwavable containers.
