Pop Up Surveys

In the past couple of days I have been getting pop-up requests to take a Chow survey. I find these extremely annoying! Yes, I know I can just dismiss the box, but that's not the point. I don't want to see them at all. Ever. Since I am logged in when these come up, can you add a "Don't show me this again." button.

Am I the only on annoyed by this?

Another thought about this dialog. I responded to the first one and gave a "10" rating. But the surveys keep coming. Since it can't seem to discern who has answered the survey, won't the results be skewed if I say "10" every time I'm asked?

I started answering every one this weekend (after deleting at least 20) with a zero after answering two with '10' and am now giving my ONE way to improve as needing to hire someone who knows how to program surveys. They can now go through and figure out how many answers are skewing the results.

    1. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with the survey. We run surveys only a few times per year, but nobody should see the invite more than once. The only exception would be if your browser cookies are disabled or cleared. What browser are you using?

        Six times this session. I have not wandered off the Chowhound boards. ETA: 8 times-twice more when I went off this Board to another Board.

        When I click the 'contact us' my iMac automatically goes to a Mac email that I have not set up.

        I did NOT have to sign back onto the site when I started this session. So the cookies are there.

          Hi Cathy,

          Since you are using a Mac I am going to guess that you are also using Safari browser. It sounds like this may be a Safari issue. What I am going to do now is exclude Safari users from seeing the survey invite until we can find a solution. I am sorry for the inconvenience here. We love getting feedback from users like you and the last thing we want to do is frustrate you!
