NJ to North Carolina any recs?

A friend to going to Asheville NC. Rt 78 PA, I-81 VA, or maybe the blue ridge parkway to I-26 NC

I've suggested Mill St Grill in Staunton, VA. Great place for good food.
Mitchie Tavern in Charlottesville, VA. Fabulous lunch.

Any suggestions on where to stop and eat on this trip

Thanks for any recs.

Try Chesapeake City, Maryland! Easy stop off the I 95 corridor, about 1/2 hour from the Delaware Memorial Bridge, Chesapeake City is a historic, restored shipping village on the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. There are 7 eating options, all excellent, and you can also stroll the waterway, view the historic homes both large and small, all restored to their original 19th century glory, visit quaint shops and soak in the charm of this incredible little town. There are 3 bed and breakfasts for a stop over. One could continue to drive to North Carolina by returning to I 95 but we recommend continuing south on Rte. 213 which is a great drive, gives the opportunity to cross several Eastern Shore rivers, stop in little towns if desired, and then re-enter the I 95 craziness via the Bay Bridge to Annapolis Md or continue south until you arrive in the tidewater Virginia area. Chesapeake City is a town you should get to know! www.chesapeakecity.com
