OC Mastro's: Oceanclub in Newport or Steakhouse

I've been to Mastro's in Beverly Hills and have heard great things about the Costa Mesa location. Between Mastro's Oceanclub in Newport Beach or Steakhouse in Costa Mesa, which would you recommend? Also, are the prices pretty similar?

I agree with the last post. I have lived in Newport all my life and don't enjoy the wannabe restaurants. If you have the desire to try to "be seen" go for Oceanclub. If you want a good meal without the fluff go to Costa Mesa. If you want a good meal and a view, with some fluff go to the Balboa Bay Club.

I believe the prices are similar if not the same. I can only speak about the Oceanclub, and not about the food there, but we walked in, and after ten minutes left. If not for the untrained inattentive staff causing us to leave, we would have been overcome by the cologne. It was by far the worst, cheesiest crowd I have ever seen at a restaurant, and I have been to Mr C., and seen the O.C. Try not to trip on the Lamborghini doors as you leave...
