Italian Restaurant

Has anyone been to Coppa, on Washington Avenue, corner of TC Jester?

I have been twice (happy hour and lunch) and enjoyed it for the most part. The best times are at happy hour though. Lunches hover around $20 which is too high for the product. I had an Italian sausage "burger" which I expected to be sliced encased sausage, but it was very much like breakfast sausage patties on a tough roll with a side of slaw that was not great. Their pizzas are good, but the smaller ones at happy hour are suitable for one ($5), the lunch pizzas ($13-$18) are way too large for one, so plan to share. At happy hour, we really enjoyed the pizza, warm olives and the patio.

I had a wonderful dinner there last week. I had the veal marsala (that night's special) and it was excellent. Our group of 9 sampled most of the menu, and everything was delicious (it was dueling spoons at the end over that lemon semi-freddo). Reasonable wine list and great service. Keep an eye on your plate, however -- the busboys are the most overzealous I've ever seen.

I've been twice & really loved it. The tuna appetizer & the lemon semi freddo dessert are heavenly. For mains I've had the gnocchi which was okay & the carbonara which was quite good. Decent wine list too.
