a collegue and I are attending a convention in Denver. We need suggestions for two females within walking distance of the Crowne Plaza. Good food of any cuisine needed for two nights. Reasonable prices, not 5 star luxury.

  1. You're in the "boring" part of downtown, but Row 14 near the Convention Center has some really good food at decent prices. You're also only a block away from 16th St which offers a free bus up and down it until 1 AM I believe? I'd take the bus down to Larimer Square (15th and Larimer) and eat at either Rioja or TAG. ChoLon Bistro is a little further down on 16th St and has great Asian with French influences. Euclid Hall is on 14th and something and has upscale pub food - homemade sausages, bone marrow, deep fried cheese curds, poutine, etc. along with a fantastic beer selection.

    1. MyNameIsTerry is right about the 16th Street Mall Shuttle, but beyond that, what do you consider "walking distance"? I don't know whether it is still so lavish, but Panzano has or at least had well-priced and lavish happy hour options. It's in the Hotel Monaco (18th & Curtis or thereabouts).
