Hot beverages with cream sherry?

Maybe this belongs in the wine forum, but this topic is really more about cooking.

I'm looking for simple hot cream sherry recipes. I found a few online, but they either require another liquor or have egg whites, which I'm not interested in.

What do you think about substituting cream sherry for another hot drink recipe? Like something with brandy or... whatever. What would you recommend.

I have just been giving a gift of a large (very large) bottle of sherry and since the weather is cold, I would like some hot drinks.

  1. Strong brewed black tea, glug of cream sherry, milk, sugar in a small amount, maybe a bit of orange peel or slice. This one is not half bad, especially in the mid afternoon.

Not really a favorite of mine, unless there's nothing else to drink the house, but half sherry, half port in a glass, add the same measure of boiling water, a teaspoon of sugar and a grating of nutmeg.

Worse comes to worse, just sip the sherry from a 5 oz glass; I find sherry to be warming enough on it's own.
