Dinner suggestions near Vic Theater?

Any suggestions to open minded diners? Ethnic preferred, but open to anything good. Going to a show with friends and want to assure a great evening for all. Thanks!

We often go to Duck Walk before a Vic show.... little cozy Thai restaurant just around the corner on Belmont, about a 2 minute walk. Only holds maybe 20-25 people or so, but we've never had a problem getting a table. Very friendly service and delicious food. BYOB also. We've even run into band members catching a bite to eat before the show there.

I've placed those recommendations on the map at the right. As you can see, there are a bunch of places within a few blocks walk of the theater, but they're not ethnic-focused. The proximity will give you convenience for pre-theater dining.

If you would like great ethnic dining, I'd recommend Mixteco Grill for provincial Mexican cuisine. It's a couple of miles northwest of there, so you would need to re-park the car or take the el (CTA Brown Line). Mixteco Grill accepts reservations over the phone, and is BYOB.

There are some other ethnic options that are an el ride away - the Vietnamese restaurants near the Argyle stop on the CTA Red Line, and TAC Quick (Red Line Sheridan stop) and Spoon Thai (Brown Line Western stop) - but if you want Asian (and especially Thai), I'd consider wineaux's recommendation of Duck Walk below. Eating close by makes so much sense, so you don't have to worry about making the show on time.
