Catering Recommendations: Indian Chaat (Chat); Finger Foods; Indian Tandoor

Hi Everyone, we're getting married in August in a small harbor town outside Tacoma and planning from afar could use some recommendations for our boho chic wedding. Specifically we need any recommendations or places to look for:

o Caterer that can provide an Indian Chaat "buffet" or spread for an Indian pooja we're having that morning at a residence

o Caterer that can put out a fantastic, visually appealing and creative finger food presentation for 65 later that evening at a small inn. We're not looking for meat on a stick and sliders; but something more elegant as well as local, and well -- different or unique.

o Lastly, a caterer that can bring an Indian Tandoor oven out to the same inn to serve fresh tandoori paneer, salmon, shrimp, etc... as an accompaniment to our own prepared more western starters and sides.

We need someone that can not just "cook" it, but present it in a way that is stylish and memorable.

Thanks, Kamal

No idea really, but the Seattle Art Museum had a Dwali Ball at least the last two years. 2010 the food was catered by Saffron Grill, not sure who did it this year. Perhaps someone from SAM could help out with a name.

There are a couple of Indian Restaurants in Tacoma - but I have not tried them.

Very, very difficult. First, is your location. So far as I know, most of the Indian restaurateurs in western Washington are in Bellevue/Redmond or Seattle areas. Second, even amongst, those, very few chaat places. The only one I know is Mayuri in Redmond. Is it great chaat? No, but good to adequate. I don't know if they cater. I don't know if they would be willing to travel that far. I don't know about their visual presentation. Good luck.
