Saturday lunch in the valley

eyelean Nov 4, 2011 09:29 PM

Taking my daughter's future mother-in-law to lunch on a Saturday. Looking for upscale and casual with varied menu choices.

if you like israeli food, ITZIK HAGADOL in encinol
i am partial to restaurants that have both good food AND comfortable seating.

    lots of skewered food.
    interesting salads.
    family-style eating.
NOT your same old same old

Cafe Bizou in Sherman Oaks is my general pick for upscale/casual on weekends. Perfect for a mother-in-law. I think it's far nicer than Itzik Hagadol and they have a wide variety of brunch offerings on Saturdays.

        We agree on the Itzik.

In addition to Bizou, Stanleys, while a bit less upscale, gets a nice clientele for Saturday lunch, and would be perfectly acceptable for such a lunch.

Agree with Cafe Bizou. Would also suggest Pickwick's British Pub in Woodland Hills, Not as upscale as Bizou but a good place to go.
