In Stoney Creek for Work and looking for Chow Worthy places to go
I am in town for 3 nights. I understand that Niagara On the Lake is only 20 mins away but fear I don't have any transport other than taxis.
Working at Queenston and Lake and staying on Centennial Parkway.

There's a great little vegetarian Indian restaurant, The Himalaya, at 160 Centennial Parkway N.(in a strip mall on the corner of Centennial & Violet, just 1 block south of Barton) It's well known for sweets & takeout; no liquor license, but there are a few tables, and the food is great.

Not a bad little area :
Pho Dau Bo at 800 Queenston Rd., Unit 18 does a decent pho. Just down the road, and on my list to try, is Red Rocket Wings at 754 Queenston. Let me know what you think if you go. Also, there is a Denningers German market at 826 Queenston for great lunch stuff and they also have a lunch counter. Lastly, Bill Mcvicars Scotich bakery for meat pies at 184 Queenston at Gray.
If you get a chance, get up to Highland Country Market (not a Highland Farms) on Highland Rd. Amazing quality and selection of meats at fantastic prices plus great dill pickles in a keg.

re: fryerlover
Definitely Memphis fire BBQ. Check the other thread for recommendations. Everything I have had so far has been good except for the chicken wings (didn't like the sauce at all). Brisket is really good.. if you go Monday to Wednesday they have fried chicken which is pretty good but I saw go for the smoked food instead. Other nights of the week are ribs.. but, if you want ribs or chicken I suggest you call in to reserve an order because they do tend to sell out.
Other things around there- On Centennial Parkway itself there is a new gourmet burger place close to the Burger King there. I think it is called The Union or something like that. I haven't been but many an option for a meal at some point.
If you are on a budget at all you could consider using the bus too : http://www.hamilton.ca/CityServices/Transit Pretty sure there is a bus that goes fairly close to Memphis fire and I imagine you could take it across HWY 8 from centennial...
Also, consider going to Locke St. in Hamilton (Stoney creek is part of Great Hamilton area). I am not sure how far the driving distance but if you search here for Locke you will find some recommendations like Pizza NaRoma : http://www.naroma.ca/
