Really good breakfast in st Pete?

  • 6

So far I've not been that fond of breakfast places in Tampa/st Pete. My favorites seem to be in Sarasota, but that's a bit of a drive just for breakfast. We have tried several, but still can't find really good breakfast (ala Sea Star...) Trying to find really good crab cake eggs benedict and corned beef hash. Pink flamingo over on Davis seems to have the best one locally so far. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  1. 2 of my favorites....
Maggie Mae's in Bellair Bluffs and Sand Key
Sweet Sage Cafe in Redington Beach

    1. And in St. Pete Beach, two at the same intersection (Gulf Blvd & Corey Ave): the Frog Pond and (my fave) Beverly's. Beverly's specialty is croissants, which I don't actually get, because I love Benedicts. They have a whole section, and my favorite is the veggie bennie. Walk Corey from the shops to the waterfront on each end after breakfast!

      1. For the best homemade corn beef hash, crab eggs benedict or oatmeal (Famous Phil's) go to Nina's on Blind Pass Rd. in St. Pete Beach.

        1. Stella's on Beach Dr in Gulfport is great for breakfast. Friendly service, eat inside or outside where the sidewalk is pet friendly. Really good, fresh, and diverse menu. Try the Fried chicken and cheese biscuit quite awesome! Nice specials for breakfast and lunch and good beers, too.

          1. not crab, but the German Crepes house on Tierra Verde has a great benedict as well as some other amazing breakfast items (potato pancakes, rostbrautworst). As for hash, i'm looking for that too, the last place i had it was Munch's Sundries in St Pete, and it was out of a can.

            1. The best egg benedict I've had in St. Pete is at the Queenshead (25th and Central). It's only available during their Sunday brunch (11-3) and it's worth carving out some time that day to enjoy. It has a delicious orange zest citrus glaze on it with a touch of Sriracha in it, over an English muffin.
