Lunch over MD Bay Bridge

I'd like to take my mother for lunch over on MD's eastern shore. I know I asked this once, but I can't find my post and it could be that things have changed. Things happened and I never got to take her for that lunch. My mom has never been over the Bay Bridge, so I'd like to take her over that then someplace that has a nice water view and good food. Does not have to be the best meal you've ever eaten, but hoping the food will be good so the drive is worthwhile. She loves fin fish, but not clams, mussels, or steamed crabs.

Any advice? Thanks in advance!

If not the Narrows, try the Bridges restaurant. I don't know what kind of atmosphere you are looking for, but that would help make the decision. Bridges is next to the Narrows, so you could even change your mind when you got there. Hemingways has new owners and the food has improved, but unless the view of the Bay bridge is what you want to have, you would be better off eating at either of the two aforementioned restaurants.

Thanks. I have no idea why I couldn't find my original query & thread. I tried all sorts of search queries. Oh well.

We went to The Narrows. My mom had salmon which seemed to be cooked perfectly. It came with spinach, which she really liked. I had fried oysters, the batter needed a touch of salt. My husband had the vegetable crab soup (ok, not great), crabcake appetizer (excellent, lots of lump crab meat), and cioppino (gritty mussels) . But the view was wonderful, and my mom really enjoyed the lunch.

Glad she enjoyed it. The Narrows is more known for the cream of crab, but...some only like the vegetable style.
Too bad it was a little breezy today.

Tks overboost44. I told my husband that The Narrows was known for their cream of crab soup, not veg. crab, but he really doesn't like cream of crab. As you said. He just got a small one so no big deal. Everything else was fine.

the only "fin fish" dish on the Narrows lunch menu is pecan crusted catfish, just an FYI.

Hemingways is the marina /restaurant which you see to the right as you head over the bridge to the eastern shore. you can't get much closer

Yes, Hemingway's was mediocre and a year ago when I was there also dirty windows just not very pleasant.

Hemingways has been completly rebuilt and remade with a new owner, new menu and real Chef's Give it a try.

You may like The Narrows, though my favorite thing about it is the cream of crab soup, which is fantastic. Good crabcakes too.

They have great crab cakes and a beautiful location, too, overlooking the bay. They have fish specials so it's worth looking at that. It would be a great place for an afternoon drive.

I second the rec. The Narrows is a fine place for a meal. I think their crab cakes are very good too. Get a table on the enclosed verandah just beyond the main dining area.

I highly second the recommendation of The Narrows. It overlooks Kent Narrows, though, not the bay.
