Last minute lunch for tomorrow in West Village or Soho

  • 5

Coming up for the day. Please recommend places in West Village, or Soho. We are open to all cuisines and price points, but need casual dress. I have looked at Spotted Pig, Good, Hung-ry, Morandi, Papatzul, Kin Shop, Osteria-morini, and Torrisi.

Thank you!!

  1. There are a lot of good options in that area. Osteria Morini is a current lunch favorite since it's less crowded than dinner. Kin Shop and Hung Ry are great. Torrisi offers counter service for lunch, tables are first come, first serve.

I'd also look into Balthazar, The Dutch, Lupa, Empellon, and Minetta Tavern.

I'd avoid Balthazar as it is likely to be a madhouse during brunch service. The Dutch will be better but there may be a short wait. My picks would be Lupa or Minetta Tavern, although Morini and Kin Shop are good choices too.

    2. Great suggestions above, I would just add Rubirosa, Yerba Buena Perry or the new place from Yerba Buena's chef, Coppelia.

      1. Spotted Pig, Good, and Morandi will be serving brunch menus, not lunch menus. Places serving regular lunch will have a shorter wait. Torrisi will be closing on November 6th for about a week, while Parm opens, so it's possible they won't be fully stocked. IIRC, they don't do table service at lunch either.

        1. BTW, the wait for a table for two at Spotted Pig at noon last Saturday was 45-60 minutes.
