Hounds, where do you go for good Chinese food in Duchess County?

Jade Palace in Wappingers Falls is the best of the more typical Chinese food places that I've tried. I haven't tried too many though. But most of them are not too enjoyable, and I've actually enjoyed Jade Palace. The aforementioned dumpling place is very good, although they mainly just have dumplings and a few other dishes.

If you like dumplings, Dumpling Palace in Wappingers Falls is very good.

Good Chinese food in Dutchess County? An oxymoron.

I think Formosa Cuisine and Dumpling Palace are sorely needed additions to the HV food scene. Have you tried either place, Mike? I would love to hear your thoughts.

+1 to both of the above from applesauce.

welcome oriental grocery on route 376 stocks asian ingredients, and on saturday a little after noon brings up tons of little dim sum and chinese hot / cold dishes from either chinatown or central jersey, i forget which. they also have some banh mi sandwiches as well at that time.

(edit: and twisted soul, although not a chinese place, has good dumplings and other things that - if you like chinese food - fit right up your alley).

I "third" Formosa Cuisine and Dumpling Palace. Also Welcome Oriental Grocery and Twisted Soul. Outside of these, I agree with Mike in Rhinebeck that good Chinese food in Dutchess County is an oxymoron. And let me add Ulster County.

I'd recommend these two places to. They're the closest to "authentic Chinese" food that you'd find in Dutchess County. Formosa just expanded their menu with a lot more varieties - definitely worth a try!!

Formosa Cuisine near Marist (back of old Kona Coffee building) is excellent.
