I see several posts today about creperies, but no one has anything good to say about them.

The woman I'm dating has never had crepes. I would really like to take her someplace where we could have good savory dinner crepes, followed by sweet dessert crepes and all washed down by good Breton cider. I'm thinking of some place like Ti Couz in S.F. Is there anyplace like that in L.A. (east side prefered, but I'd travel for something really good)?

Check out La Creperie on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore. They have both savory and sweet crepes, good espresso and coffee, and you can have a nice stroll afterward.

aah...don't let people scare you away from the crepe nazi on Sawtelle! Give it a try...it's pretty good food and provides you with entertaining discussions about him! I bet you everyone will be wondering if he is indeed as bad as the board makes him out to be...and will go check the spot out themselves! LOL Wouldn't that be rich! See no evil, Hear no Evil, Eat no Evil!

the owner _is_ quite a character. he is really demanding and a little on the cranky side, but his food is alright. i never mentioned his crepes being terrible. they arent. theyre okay. but not mind blowingly so.

my homemade crepes are better though. :P

I went to La Creperie, and definitely enjoyed myself, but the crepes (at least the one I had) tasted like whole wheat. It was good but not even close to authentic. Just an FYI :)

Well, authentic savory French crepes are made from buckwheat, so if that was what they are made of, that was authentic.

Nothing's as good as eating a crepe on the quai alongside the Seine, but for dining on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore, just a few blocks from the Pacific, La Creperie is pretty darned good.

Oh, they are absolutely delicious...I just was a little thrown off at first by the texture/taste of my crepe the first time...very much like whole wheat bread...but once I got used to it, they were fab. Someone mentioned they also have croques monsieur - those are my absolute favorite pick-up food in Paris...how are they are La Creperie?

There's nothing as cool as Ti Couz. There's the newish place CrepeVine in Pasadena, but they had a fire and aren't offering savory crepes right now. Also, it's more of a bistro than a real creperie.

To my taste, the stand in Farmer's Market are the only ones that taste remotely authentic...I don't think they have cider, but you could probably get some at the nearby beer stand.

I love KCs yummy savoury and sweet crepes...the nutela dessert crepe is a must! Their bobba drinks are also really good.

The only drawback to this place is that it feels like a coffee house but definitely worth a try.
