Sausage (bbq) question?

My parents are big fans of the regular sausage at Black's in Lockhart and City Market in Luling. While those aren't too far away, does anyone know of a place with a very similar style closer to Austin? Apologize in advance if this is a dumb question, but I always focus on brisket and never usually try the sausage.

I believe that the Elgin joints (Southside, Meyer's) sell their sausage in grocery stores. If you're willing to cook your own, that might do you well.

I'll second this. Elgin's got some of the best sausage, and it's really not a bad drive if you just wanna go out there. Probably your best bet.

I just Google mapped it from my house in Travis Heights, and it clocks out at 28 miles. Hardly farther than a trip to Ikea, and it's 290, so you're not slugging around on slow back roads or anything.

i'm not a sausage afficianado, but if you live down south, Milt's pitt in Kyle gets their "lockhart" sausage from Kreuz which I think is similar to blacks

Try the sausage at the new JMueller's on S. First. It's exceptionally good.
