What to choose between Les Heritiers, Khyber Pass and Quartier general?
I am trying to choose a restaurant for my boyfriend's birthday which would be BYOW, quiet/loud enough to still be able to have a decent conversation (instead of nodding across the table) and that would be around 30-40$ per person (I don't mind going up to 50$).
We both enjoyed la Pegase and La Colombe. I am now hesitating between the three choices stated in the title:
Khyber Pass -- it would be a nice change from french cuisine
I just can't make up my mind so your feedback would be most appreciated!
Les Héritiers and Quartier Général are very similar places. Bistronimie-ish cuisine that's perhaps a bit more fusion at QG and a bit more Québécois at Les Héritiers. Neither is that great, but ordering strategically could end in a successful evening. Just don't expect great things. Both rooms are similar, and can get pretty boisterous. The night I was at Les Héritiers, it got quite loud.
Khyber Pass is a whole nother type of restaurant. It's good value and very tasty food. It's not the most comfy dining room in town. Service and atmosphere are very casual.
P'tit Plateau. Better than QG, tad more expensive. More classical. But also a more quiet location for a romantic dinner. And same neighbourhood.
Agreed about Khyber Pass, it's a fun change of scenery but not really outstanding food. But I believe you get a tuque or mittens there if it's your birthday.
