Good dumplings (small, thin, homemade skin) in a sit-down restaurant -- like Shan Dong in San Francisco

I'm looking for a restaurant that has good dumplings (boiled and/or fried) that are comparable to Vanessa's or Super Taste. Does such a place exist in New York (preferably Manhattan). If any of you know Shan Dong on Irving in San Francisco, they do awesome regular dishes, e.g., their dry fried chicken, AND they have perfect boiled dumplings that come a dozen to a plate, are small, and have nice thin, homemade skin. Help me out! Thanks.

try the lamb dumplings at uncle zhou in elmhurst. they are superb. try the signature fish too, and spicy beef knife cut noodle soup

Somehow I had completely forgotten about TKettle! So happy to know that they're still good! My only complaint was that sometimes they steamed the dumplings for too long, but I think you can buy them cold and steam them at home.

Nothing in Manhattan? Do they have any decent dumplings (not soup dumplings) at 465 Shanghai?

They have steamed pork and vegetable dumplings and pan-fried pork dumplings, not boiled. Have not tried them though.

Well take a look at kathryn's post below on TKettle. Kathryn knows dumplings! Also, I don't know how I could have forgot - He Nan Flavor on Forsyth has excellent boiled dumplings. See my original review below with link to the Flushing flagship and slideshow photo of the big plate of boiled deliciousness. The Manhattan spot does have them.
