Knife Sharpening in Northern NM?

finlero Nov 3, 2011 07:12 AM

I think the time has come to accept the fact that I'm just not very good at doing my own knife sharpening. I've found some places online, but the fear is always that they'll do more harm than good.

Does anyone have a place they trust in ABQ, SF, or further north?

I don't have any personal experience with this, but there's a guy who offers a knife sharpening service at the Santa Fe farmer's market every Saturday. He looks fairly legit so it might be worth a try.

Hi, Did you ever find a good knife sharpening person?

Regrettably no. I wouldn't mind checking out rcurtism's rec at the farmers market, but I'd rather have a wider time window so I don't have to deal with the crowds. I love that the market is as popular as it is, but it doesn't change the fact that it's a pain in the neck to navigate. ("Nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded.")

I see there are a few places in ABQ, but haven't found much feedback on them. Will report back if I try any out.

Just don't go to World of Knives in Albuquerque. They wrecked my favorite knife.
