Italian Late Lunch

Will be landing at Midway at 1:15 PM tomorrow (Friday) , renting a car and heading to Burr Ridge for a 5:30 Meeting. This is my 1st time in Chicago. I have scoured the board and what I've gleaned so far is that the really good Restaurants are in Chicago proper. From Mapquest it looks like a trip to Coco Pazzo, Piccolo Sogno, or Spiaggia would have me driving 50 minutes to the restaurant and then another 50 or more to my hotel. Add to that the "never driven here before" factor and it makes for this question: Is there really good Italian SouthWest of Chicago? Seems from what everyone says the Midway Airport area is not a Mecca for food. Looking at Urbanspoon I found a Rosebud restaurant in Naperville that had decent reviews. The map says I would be overshooting my destination a bit. Like in most metro areas, traffic patterns can make more of a difference than distance in drive times. Any ideas on a way to find great food without too stressful or long a drive?

  1. Bella Bacino's is an excellent Italian restaurant in La Grange and very close to your route from Midway to Burr Ridge, easily accessible from the Stevenson (I-55). According to their website, they are open all afternoon. It's the perfect place for what you've asked for.

It will probably take 10-15 minutes to drive there from Midway, and then another 20-30 minutes in rush hour from there to Burr Ridge. If you leave the restaurant by 3:00 it could take as little as 15 minutes.
