Restaurants offering wine pairings in Winnipeg

princess007 Nov 2, 2011 06:56 PM

Back in Calgary there were many restaurants that offered a prixe fixe menu with a wine pairing for each course (running about $120 or so) but I have been unable to find such an establishment here. Please help! I have checked Sidneys and the Current but no luck.

hmm might be tough to find ... have you tried 529 or Peasant Cookery? For Sydney's, at $53 for a five course dinner in November, I'm sure it'd be easy for them to set up the pairings on the fly - or even if you called ahead for a specific party so they have the pairings on hand, according to your coursed choices...?? good luck! let us know if you found anything, or if any restaurant was good to accommodate the suggestion of wine pairings!

Mise offers wine pairings with their "create a three course meal" option.

      Beaujena's offers wine pairings

A little different, but Provence Bistro offers wine dinners one evening every month. It has always been on my list of things to do, but I always forget about it until I've missed that month's dinner.

Try calling Kenaston Wine Market, they will be sure to have some good tips!

I just saw that Provence Bistro will be closing--the last opportunity to dine there will be December 31, 2011.

They will be re-opening as Promenade Cafe and Wine in the current Promenade Bistro space on Provencher. Their website says, "Another significant emphasis for this restaurant is on wine and food pairings. Each menu item will have a suggested wine pairing for guests to try. Wine tasting events will happen on a monthly basis" so if you can wait till their opening (Spring 2012), perhaps this will be the ideal spot for dinners with wine pairings.
