Music affects the way we perceive and taste food, why not wine?

I recall the mag, that Brad references, but never warmed to it.

I cannot directly comment on wine AND music, but will comment that I have found that wine seems to be improved (sometimes at an astounding level), by great company, and good conversation. After some tastings, with the right folk, I often ask myself "now why did I buy this case," when tasting it alone... ? [Frown]

May be something to that study? Now, which wine should I serve with Mike Oldfield's Tres Lunas portfolio?

          Aloha Bill..
As a drummer for many years, I totally agree that wine is improved at 'astounding' levels by great company, conversation and food..
But I can attest that a great song can catapult that average bottle of red to a Silver Oak status..
          ; )

Actually, I've had some "average" bottles of red that didn't require music to achieve that status. ; >P

            Cheers,

            Dave

There used to be a print publication called Wine X. This is going back 10+ years ago. The mag's approach was to sort of be edgy (not stuffy) when it came to wine.

In the section where the magazine wrote reviews/tasting notes of wines, they would also offer a music pairing. I remember thinking that was a cool idea and a fun, irreverent approach.
