Best Seafood in SF?

Can you give me some recs for great sea food restaurants in San Francisco? We are looking for a great place to end our visit of the area this evening, so I need help fast!

Nice atmosphere would be a plus!

Thanks in advance!

I've been having some pretty bad experiences of late at Woodhouse and Alamo Square. I do enjoy Anchor Oyster Bar but expect a long wait if you go during normal dinner hours.

Same experience at Woodhouse except for the fried clambellies.

      2. Sotto Mare, cioppino although there seems to be some controversy.

I had very good Sand Dabs at Sotto Mare on Saturday.

We had incredible ciopinno at Scomma's on the wharf!! Full of seafood and wonderful flavor..enough to share! From what I've read, not many Chow members think much of the food on Fisherman's Wharf. I think I have a fairly discriminating palette, and I would highly recommend it.
P.S clam chowder is great there also!

Actually most reports are that Scoma's is one of the bright spots at the wharf but that the lunch is a better value.

we had very good cioppino during crab season last winter at Sotto Mare and plan on returning for it. two of us ate well sharing one order plus one bowl of excellent chowder and a plate of simple oil/garlic linguine. the fish and shell fish that often get overcooked, weren't, and the overall style was minimum ingredients other than the seafood, compatible with an Italian outlook.
