Mancini's or Lindy's?

My kids (ages 11, 9, and 7) love steak so we're heading out next Wed to a steak joint to celebrate by birthday. While I know there are better steak places in the Twin Cities, I've boiled our choices down to Lindy's or Mancini's.

Which one would you choose?

the two weirdest steakhouses in town! i like both of them but neither would be a first choice for me, but since it is about the kids i think i would lean towards lindy's. mancini's has a sort of down-scale rat pack appeal but to enjoy that would require some knowledge of the rat-pack. lindys has a knotty-pine thing going on that you just dont find too much anymore. i think the kids might be more drawn towards the knotty pine thing. of course the question about relish tray versus weird pickled water melon rind remains to answered. i think mancini's relish tray is great but the kids could have a lot of fun, love it or hate it either way it could be fun, with the lindy's watermelon rind..... so i say lindy's

zfwp summed up my thoughts pretty well. Lindy's is a little more small town feel and their potatoes are awesome. Mancini's has the old school lounge feel and killer garlic bread.

I think both places are kid friendly, actually.

The garlic bread alone is the reason to choose Mancini's. John and Pat are also great with kids. If you are celebrating something, let them know. They'll be sure to find some way to make it special and memorable. I'm fortunate enough these days that we could go anywhere in town now for our annual family holiday meal. We still choose Mancinis because it is just that good...

I went to Mancini's for my birthday 5 or so years ago and Pat brought out a birthday cake at the end of the meal. I don't think anyone there knew it was my birthday until I gave them my ID to order a drink.

Classy touch from a classy establishment.

I like Mancini's better. Just cause. Also, I like having a choice in how i want my potatoe. You don't get that at Lindy's.
