ISO restaurant near National Theater

We're going to see Jersey Boys in a few weeks (a Wednesday matinee performance). and we're interested in having dinner afterward. We haven't been to National Theater since we saw Mamma Mia several years ago and had dinner at Les Halles (back when it was still good!). So, is there any restaurant in that area similar to what Les Halles used to be (we're thinking: dinner for two $80)...and my husband requests "less than 76 decibels" :>) Thanks!

  1. You are going to love Jersey Boys! I saw it a year ago in Detroit with my boyfriend and we had so much fun.

As for food there are 2 good french bistro options, walking distance to the theater and in the same price range (if not less). Bistro D'Oc is my favorite french restaurant in DC. It's walking distance to the theater and totally charming. My favorite dishes there are the duck confit and the steak frites.

Cafe du Parc is in the Willard Hotel and also quite good. I've only been once (right after seeing Julie and Julia when I just HAD to have a french meal) and had a delicious roast chicken dish.

Thanks so much! We rarely go into the district anymore (such a pain getting parking spots at vienna metro) so we're not so knowledgeable re: good restaurants in that area. Anyhow, both of these restaurants sound exactly what I'm looking for...I love French bistro food (especially steak frites ;>) Thanks too for the good word re: Jersey Boys. We've heard it's wonderful - I cannot wait!!!

"back when it (les Halles) was still good!" or even open.

        Central is nearby as well.

Good idea! Thanks. My husband is also looking at Ceiba (he likes their pre-theater menu).

Ceiba is delicious! And definitely a change of pace.

    2. I love Bistro D'Oc as well. And though Central is amazing it's hard to get out of there for your price. But depending on how many weeks away the show is, you might want to also consider Cafe Du Parc, which is charming French and next to the Willard. If the WIllard is decorated for Christmas yet, you MUST stroll around it a bit. It's gorgeous that time of year.

      1. Thanks everyone - we'll be there next week - 11/16. Right now we're booked into Ceiba (the pre-theater special, altho' we'll get there *after* seeing Jersey Boys matinee ;>)
