Where to buy non-canned Hatch/New Mexico roasted green chiles?

abijah Nov 1, 2011 12:20 PM

Is there anywhere in LA to buy frozen roasted New Mexico (aka Hatch) green chiles -- or any roasted green chiles that are not canned?

I know that I could just roast some Anaheims over my gas range burner, but I'm looking for a pre-made way.

Bristol Farms in Playa del Rey has them frozen.

Hatch chiles are much spicier than Anaheims, so not a great equivalency, but yes, Bueno is the way to go, since chile season is over.

Many Albertson's carry Bueno brand frozen green chilies which I am pretty sure are roasted and flash frozen Hatch chilies. At least my friends in New Mexico, when they don't have a freezer full of their own Hatch chilies, use Bueno.
