Miru 8691 ... best burger in Los Angeles?

Just when I started going more regularly to 26 Beach for burgers, I came across this article from The Burger Review:

They say the burger from Miru 8691 (or is it Miru8691?) is the best in Los Angeles.

I admit it, I never even heard of Miru 8691 before reading that review and unless my search function on CH isn't working -- I'm not seeing any reviews of this place here. (I'm sure someone will find ten threads about Miru -- but honestly, I'm not finding any).

Anyone here recommend this place?

  1. Can't say anything about the burger, but I used to unwillingly go with co-workers for the occasional lunch. Mostly I remember extremely over sauced fusion sushi rolls which weren't even done that well.

    1. Have you heard of "the burger"? I haven't.

Here's a piece by Food Marathon: I think they have a Happy Hour? And the burger is extremely well priced during that time. It's good for what it is. But it doesn't come close to the level of 25 Deg.

The reviewer on the Burger review is also a poster on Chowhound. His reviews are pretty complete though he tends to focus on the westside and doesn't branch out to the east or Valleys much where I would be interested.

The Burger Review is run by guys known as the Burger Busters. They do post here under that name. I am very iffy about their reviews personally. For instance they consider Umami the best burger in LA and gave 26 Beach one star out of five. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but not all opinions are equal.

I prefer the adage "Opinions are like as*holes. Everyone's got one.". Too deep?

          1. That burger was the "ultimate" burger on "Crave", a new Food Network Show. San Diego food writer, looking for the things in burgers he "craved", ended up at Miru 8691 for reasons only he could describe.

I'm not partisan one way or t'other, The Comme Ca burger floats my boat just fine.

I saw the episode as well which prompted me to get the Kalbi Burger. The different meat combos were pretty delicious from the Korean BBQ kalbi and the beef patty.
