Anthony Bourdain & Eric Ripert in Charlottesville, VA, Last Night

Anyone besides me there? I had 2nd-row seats & the show was FABULOUS! The repartee between the two was really entertaining. Even non-foodies like my husband really enjoyed it. SO glad I got tickets.

  1. We were there! Such a blast. I wasn't sure what to expect, but they were both highly likable and entertaining and articulate. I would have liked them to take more audience questions, if only to hear them talk longer.

Why were they there? Are they doing some touring act?

Yes, it looks like they take the stage together quite a bit. An unlikely show to take on the road, but clearly successful: http://goo.gl/RewQo

Yes - Anthony is doing a nationwide personal appearance tour. For November, apparently Eric Ripert will only be joining him for his Portland, Maine, show. His other appearances will just be solo, I believe.

Not true. I am seeing them both in Philadelphia tomorrow night. And, Ripert is bringing a Le Bernardin tasting menu to 10 Arts (his Philadelphia venture) all week. We have reservations for that on Saturday night.

I stand corrected. Took my info off of one of his blogs. Sorry that it was incorrect.

      2. I saw them both in Boston at Symphony Hall back in March. Both of my boyfriends were just freakin' brilliant. :-)

I, however, didn't have 2nd row seats - LUCKY YOU, Breezychow!

What Linda said ;-) Amazing how entertaining and articulate these two men on a stage with a couple chairs and a couple beers are.

        2. Glad you and others got the chance to see/or will see them.

I saw them a few years back in NYC at the great Gourmet Institute (Side note: those were really great events. Much missed.) in a small Conde nast(y) presentation room. I think it may have been one of the first times they got together on stage. There were about 40-50 people there. It was great. I woman next to me agreed with me that they should take the act on the road.

Later that day I found myself sharing an elevator with Eric Ripert. He expressed real surprise about how well the talk had been received. He figured it was a one time thing.

          1. Nice piece on Bourdain posted overnight at HuffPost - http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11...
