Hi, any recommended tasty Chinese deli places to buy the whole bird for TA ? Or at specific restaurants, which i guess will be a bit more expensive.. Thanks !

  1. Mirama has good canard laqué, but I don't know if it is good for TA because I don't now what TA is. :-)

TA is mainly take away, but indeed this is a term used more for restaurants and not the places i am aiming for :-) I visited Mirama a couple of years ago and indeed the Canard was pretty good. Maybe the same level as Likafo. In the question i meant less the restaurant places, but the "deli" stores or Asian markets where the birds are presented in the window and such, bought by weight for eating at home etc .. Altough i may find it, probably significantly more expensive, at places like Mirama or Likafo, if there is info on the "not resto" type of places that may sale tatsy canard laque, wil glad to know.

Tang Frères has a laqué takeaway service. I tasted one that was personally prepared by the main laqué guy, a friend. It was very good, but he is the laqué chef there. He also showed me the 3 bullet holes he got from Tiananmen. All in all, a hero of mine.

I've either been lucky and always gooten your friend, or they're good about quality control for consistency. I've had canard laqué twice at Tang Frères, and both times it was great.

              Great to know.
I didn't mean to sound so obnoxious bragging about the privileged treatment. It was not even privileged treatment. It was a friend cooking for me. I would have hated if hounds went to Tang Frères expecting good laqué and not getting it.
I will tell my friend your endorsement. :-)
