Ursino great new Restaurant
A friend invited me to this new restaurant on Kean U campus. Its called Ursino and its very cool. Peter Turso is the Chef there, I first met him when he was the sous chef at Restaurant david Drake. The space is very modern but the food is farm-to-table and really innovative. I had the Salmon over eggplant with tomato-fennel broth, and started with the Pork Belly with Apple Gastrique. Both were yummy! Anyway, I believe that this may turn out to be one of the best restaurants in North/Central Jersey. I definately recommend. I think they open to the public this week.
I read about this restaurant in the Kean University magazine I receive as an alum. It looked very interesting. I have been wondering when it would be open to the public. I think it is a very interesting idea but the need to have more publicity. I believe they are also going to have a catering business for weddings and parties and such. That might be popular with alumni who are planning weddings.
I'll certainly get there to check it out soon.
It's somewhat off the beaten track (though about 200 yards from where I work!), so I hope they do OK.
