Dinner with my niece - a Terp

My niece is a freshman at Maryland, and I wanted to take her (and some friends) to dinner next Saturday night. I have a car and am willing to drive - as I gather College Park is not a nexus of decent restaurants. I am looking for something that is priced so that I can afford hungry students, but is interesting and someplace they may wish to return to at a later time. She is a fan of good Italian, and would like to be a fan of good French.

Bistro du coin, French bistro dupont circle
Mussel Bar, Belgian bistro in Bethesda
2 Amy's rustic Italian and gourmet pizza near the national cathedral
Jaleo, Spanish tapas in Bethesda as well as near Verizon Center downtown

I like the Bistro du Coin suggestion. It's a bit loud and boisterous, but that is why they just might love it. Not stuffy at all.

If you are interested in heading into DC I would go to Dino's for Italian---rustic, laid-back, neighborhood vibe with great food. Or Bistro D'Oc for French. It's a wonderful little french bistro with great duck confit, steak frites, profiteroles etc. Your niece will feel like you whisked her off to Paris for the evening. :)
