Seconding Sal's Meatballs as a great app, and have loved every pasta dish I've tried there. The Chocolate And Hazelnut Semifreddo dessert is to die for if they still have it...maybe my favorite dessert in the city.

I'd skip their version of Roman artichokes if they still offer it (too greasy) and wasn't crazy about the seafood mixed grill. Mostly I'd say sample a number of pastas and the house-made meats and sausages.

I personally think the meatball app is not to be missed. And usually lean towards pastas.

We have had good success with that app, the salumi of day (w/maramalade), and then pasta entrees. Perfect for 2: leave with full stomachs and a little something in the wallet.

I've been there twice and not been disappointed with anything I ordered. The pasta is particularly good.
