Congee for breakfast in C'town?

Who serves the best early morning congee?

I just had some I enjoyed at Hong Kong eatery, but they don't open till 11.

Cafe de Lu Lu opens at 8:00 and serves a solid Congee.

On weekends you can get congee at Hong Kong Eatery starting around 9am, don't know about weekdays. Also congee every day starting 9am at Winsor. Ask them for congee w/ chinese sausage (lop cheung) not on the menu.

Don't know what time they open, but I've had good congee at Great Taste Bakery & Cafe.

Great Taste actually opens WAY early--a little before six AM.

I sometimes stop in after taking the night bus back from NYC.

Haven't had congee there yet, though.

The congee at Great Taste is ok, i prefer the one at HK eatery which is more flavorful.

All good choices. i tend to get mine from Great Taste because they serve a small size ($1.80) that is sufficient for breakfast with a fried cruller or other baked good. Winsor Dim Sum has very good congee as well, a little more refined than Great Taste. It also has the advantage of other dim sum items if you are so inclined.

I went to Winsor. It was good.

I also learned that, contrary to their website, HKE actually opens at nine every morning.
