Ideas for fab restaurants near West Hollywood? First time in LA - 1 vegetarian 1 not.
My partner and I will be in LA next month and would love to try some of the best restaurants near to West Hollywood. I'm vegetarian, however my partner is not. We are from Sydney and most top restaurants here have vegetarian tasting menu options. Not sure if the same there? If anyone has any ideas for great eating places would be hugely appreciated!

There is a casual breakfast lunch place called Hugo's on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood. They have an extensive menu -- including a signature egg/pasta dish with a few variations -- for both breakfast and lunch. I think they have dinner, too, but I've never eaten dinner there.
They have plenty of vegetarian and vegan dishes at Hugo's.
For what it's worth, I almost always see someone from the movies or television that I recognize in there. Last time was Ben Stiller and his wife.

Loosely speaking, many of the best restaurants (at least high-end, chef-driven restaurants) are in or near West Hollywood. Excluding downtown and Santa Monica, (which are both less than 10 miles away but hard to navigate to on weekday evenings because of traffic) you will find that location will not be a limiting factor. This doesn't hold true for Chinese food and other food exclusive to specific ethnic neighborhoods, but certainly you will find 3 days worth of great dining without traveling far.

Providence, one of the best in Los Angeles, will do a wonderful vegetarian tasting menu for you. Let them know when you make your reservation.
Both Pizzera Mozza and Osteria Mozza have great vegetarian selections on their regular menus.
Scarpetta in Beverly Hills has a special vegetarian menu offered at all times.

M Cafe de Chaya (on Melrose near La Brea, around the corner from Pinks) might interest you.
This blog is a good source of vegetarian dining in LA (although the author is actually vegan):
One of her current favorites is Doomies, which is on Vine below Sunset:
