I'm Sorry, Is it Me or does this guy creep anyone else out?!

I dont know, maybe it's the way he approaches the camera angle out of nowhere, maybe it's his size, his rapid, too-calm-and-calculating style of voice, or if it's his ice-cold eyes, but this guy kind of gives me the creeps. He comes off as a genuinely nice, exuberant guy is a really good cook and I love his recipes so I dont mean to be mean, but was just wondering if anyone else felt the same way when looking at his videos?

He does have kind of crazy eyes.

He lost me when he brought out the frozen pie crust, but yeah, profoundly self-produced. Nice effort, however.

      dude, BLINK.

His eyes are so light-colored that they reflect the light, which is unsettling enough, but then he noses up to the camera and he never blinks!

The chocolate pie looks like a good recipe, but *shudder*

The foods on his web site reflect a putrid color pallette--greys, greens, pale beiges and browns, a little too gastroenterological. Who found this guy, and thought he'd be bankeable?

Bob, anyone can post on YouTube. He's "banking" himself.

Fooled again--a quick look gave the impression he had a publisher or network. Only himself to blame, then. I guess.

Why all the hate for a guy trying a cooking demo on the internet? Maybe he will read your criticism and become so discouraged he will take his videos down. Will you have succeeded then? Sheesh.

How is this simple reaction/criticism "hate"? Does this word even mean anything like it used to? The guy intended to have an effect and some of us think he's just failed. We all fail at something. If he's savvy, maybe he'll think about making some changes, is all.

This post is now linked to his youtube page automatically, sadly. There's some kind of "as seen on" macro that auto-links appearances elsewhere on the web. It's a shame, because I rather enjoy his videos.

Wide-angle lens shoved too close to a moon face is always creepy. Food is just as troubling.

              this one is creepy too:

              and his ideas suck.

                I'm afraid to watch.

I actually kind of enjoyed the video, so thanks for the heads-up. I agree that the camera close-ups are a bit overdone, though.

There are folks out there today in the food world who would (rightfully) cringe at their demo tape now that professional hair/makeup people quaf their look. YouTube has been a hotbed for discovering talents and you just never know what will come from TRYING. More props to those who do.
