Need rec for restaurant in Woodland Hills/Northridge are for Son's 30th B-day tonight, not much $$
It is my son's 30th birthday today and I would like to take him to a good restaurant, preferably steak, for no more than $75 out the door. We do not drink. Anything good in my measly price range that will seem luxe?

re: Servorg
Thank you Silence9 and Servorg! I really appreciate these two suggestions but we ended up going to Bamboo Cuisine on Ventura Bl. for Chinese, our family of two tradition and he wanted that. However, I am looking forward to checking out both Safari Room and The Sherman Room as I lloked rhem both up and rhey sound great!

Is that $75 per person, or $75 total for the both of you? It is hardly luxe, but if your son has a sense of the surreal and an appreciation for a retro experience from decades past, there is the Safari Room (on Devonshire) at the border between Mission Hills and Granada Hills. Upon entering, you will first sense that you are in an old-timer's watering hole for locals, but just a few feet adjacent and to the right, there is an old-school dining room that serves up fairly inexpensive steaks and sides, prime rib, etc.. The motivation for this recommendation is mostly based on the ability for two diners to eat good portions of protein for under $75 total. The only other place i can think of for grilled meats in an OK setting for that price range would be Wood Ranch, at the Northridge mall. Again, not nearly luxe, but it is not a dump by any means...
