The Dutch or Red Rooster

We have a reservation at each--which would you choose? We're going with friends. I feel like the Red Rooster might have a better atmosphere for relaxing, but that the food at the Dutch is going to be better. Thanks!

Haven't been to Red Rooster, but if the food is better at The Dutch, I'd have to say skip both. I was very disappointed in the food at The Dutch. Nothing was good there.

I've been to both in the past 2 weeks and Riverman is correct: Red Rooster has better atmosphere but The Dutch has better food. However, Red Rooster does have a drink called The Dillio—peanut infused bourbon, canton ginger liqueur, muddled dill, fresh lime—that is very delicious. Mind you, Red Rooster is usually packed and extremely loud—not the most relaxed atmosphere. And one point off The Dutch for its annoying eclectic menu. Overall I have no vote.

Yes, I'd agree that Red Rooster has a better atmosphere but The Dutch has better food. I'd choose The Dutch unless you're coming from the Upper West Side.
