Friday night dinner at Strip House - Drinks Aferwards?

  • 6

Going to dinner at Strip House on Friday night. Should be over by 10. Looking for a lively place to have drinks afterwards. Not a restaurant bar but a cocktail focused establishment. Strip house is on 13th just below UnionSquare.

  1. Flatiron Lounge is great little cocktail focused lounge on west 19th street off Broadway, a 10 minute walk Strip house.

Think there will be any issues getting in?

No issue getting in. You might wait a while for a bar stool.

They have a ground floor level with some booths and some bar stools, but they allow standing. I have never been denied entry, even on a weekend night. Sometimes they even open up he basement level room, which has its own bar and seating. It can get loud and crowded though.

There's also Rye House, which will probably be very lively, but the drinks will be not quite as good. Essentially on that same block, Raines Law Room might be worth a try as its on the way to Flatiron, but they may be full up.

I'd walk up through Union Sq, poke my head into Rye House, try Raines Law Room, and then go to Flatiron if they don't have room.

I like the Rye House idea as lively would be better for this group. Thanks!

Went to Rye house. Quite crowded but we got a table in the back. Order 3 cocktail and a beer. None of the cocktails were very good. The bourbon infused with bacon was undrinkable. Tasted like they spilled bacon grease on top of a a drink. The other 2 drinks which I cant recall were also left half full. Finally the beer which was supposed to be the Blue Point Tasted Lager which I am very familiar with was more like a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. We had already sent back the bacon grease so I did not want to send back the beer also. Wont be going back there
