Where to buy oysters in Halifax?

Any suggestions on where to buy nice oysters at good value?

Thanks

I may be a bit late for you. Ryer Lobsters Limited in Indian Harbor on the road to Peggy's Cove. I happened on this place last year while up in the area on business. Dave and his wife run a little roadside shack. He had what he called Blackpoint Oysters from PEI. They were great and fresh fresh. He shucked a few dozen for me and I ate them on the picnic bench out front. Also had the freshest scallops and we just ate them raw. No frills good prices and the nicest people going. He also ships all over the world. Im from Boston and my memory is they were about 2o minutes out of Halifax on a great ocean view car ride.

I have heard about this place a few times. I am going to have to try it out this week.

You can try the Fish Shop at the Seaport Market or Indian Point Mussels at the Brewery Market (yes, they have oysters too).

Thanks I'll keep them on the list. I'm not in halifax yet but will be there soon. How is the availability of sea urchin like?

Also...no offence but is there another discussion board for halifax that is a bit more popular than this one?

No- the Maritimes discussion boards are very quiet...There are only about 8-10 people that comment regularly, and it gets tiring saying the "same thing" over and over. Sorry!
