Cocktail suggestions for drinking with dinner

BeeZee Oct 26, 2011 03:04 PM

I like how wine can enhance the flavors of a meal...I've got a pretty limited experience in cocktails and generally have them prior to the meal so I was wondering if you all had some suggestions for cocktail/meal pairings. I'd like something that won't get me trashed, so mixed drinks (with lower alcohol content) are preferred, rather than something like a martini.

I think the specific cocktail depends on the meal, but in general, acid is your friend. It helps you taste, chew and digest your food better and cleanses your palate enough for you to want another sip.

I like that idea, obviously I've enjoyed margaritas with mexican food, what are some ideas for other citrus-y drinks?

Daiquiri, Gin Fizz, Mojito, Caipirinha, Pisco Sour, Whiskey Sour, Gin & Tonic.

Or a Perfect Manhattan (not so sweet). Dry Martini, Campari, soda, and lemon (or lime).
