Looking for lively place to take my Boston University daughter

We will be visiting next weekend - we took her to Stephanies and Limoncello a few weeks ago - all cuisines except Asian considered - we will have a few other guests with us so looking to spend around $30 to $40 per person - looking for a great atmosphere a great food - hopefully that exists!! We have a reservation at Taberna de Haro for the first night for tapas.

In that general price range, my BU daughter always loved it when we went to Eastern Standard, Rendezvous in Central Square, Punjab Palace and The Helmand.

The OP has another thread going. I posted Punjab Palace there, great minds... I love their vegetarian Thali.

The Beehive in the South End is a fun restaurant. Island Creek Oyster Bar is another great space.

I did have an unispiring meal (dinner) there last fall, but found the service and atmosphere to be great. And my guests enjoyed it.

i too love the space and had hoped for better. but the "i'm such a hipster" attitude from the staff is a major turn-off to me when they can't make a remotely decent cocktail or give attentive service.
