Looking for soup dumplings in Tampa

  • 3

Has anyone ever seen soup dumplings in Tampa?

Not the steam/steamed dumplings which are fairly common, but the soup dumplings that seem to be popular in the northeast and west coast.

Here's a Wiki on them:

Thanks in advance!

  1. Are you looking for a restaurant or a market to buy them at?

Either would be great! And sorry for my slow reply, I had a family member sent to the hospital at the time of your post. Totally forgot to look for any replies after that.

    2. As far as any local restaurants, no. You would be hard pressed to find a restaurant in the entire Southeast US that serves soup dumplings. Your best bet is to hop a plane and fly to either NYC to Flushing Chinatown or fly out West to the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles.

I dont think I have seen it at a local Asian market either. But then again, I was not looking for them either. Your best bet may be MD Oriental, the Brandon or Fowler (USF area) location. The Brandon store has a sizable section of its freezer area dedicated to frozen dumplings but more like the potsticker variety. You could always ask them to order it for you I suppose.
