All the above are good recs. I would also add Chez Catherine in Westfield. I'll also mention Sophie's Bistro in Somerset, near New Brunswick, and Mes Rêves in Bloomfield though these are more bistro-like and are somewhat lacking in the romantic department.

Me? I'd go to Restaurant Lorena.

I like Saddle River Inn for special occasions, but I am not sure where in New Jersey you are or what you want to spend.
