Breakfast in Visalia

Anyone have any suggestions for a good b'fst place in Visalia? We will do Mexican or any type of ethnic cuisine as well. HELP!

I was going to say Cafe 225 (my choice back in the late 90s), but they don't serve breakfast anymore.

There are better options than IHOP.

Valhalla was my first thought, 314 W Center, right off of Main St downtown. It's "scandanavian themed".

Also The Corner Cafe is a favorite, 1718 E Mineral King.

I grew up in Visalia and these places were around back then (20+ years ago), and are still good now.

I'll second Valhalla. It was the recommendation I got from a local when I asked the same question. Wanted something local with a good selection.

Call me a renegade, but when in doubt our fall back is always the nearest IHOP - can't beat their Swedish pancakes anywhere and it is a treat to have them when out on the road. Don't miss the End of the Trail sculpture when in the Visalia park too.

I think most of us on the board prefer non chain restaurants unless there is absolutely no other choice available.

You need to try the Swedish pancakes at IHOP. This forum is about food and dining recommendations. I stand by my lignonberry jam statements. ;-)

I'm telling you - IHOP's Swedish pancakes are that good! Better than the ones in Kingsburg - Dala Horse where they are supposed to be "authentic".
