Ideas for lunch pre fixe

I need new ideas for lunch with the inlaws. We went to Jean George and they loved it. Something in that price range would be good as I am picking up the check. Any part of Manhattan.

Ooh, that's a grand suggestion! We had a stellar lunch at La Grenouille in April. 2 plats - $45/3 plats - $60. There are supplements for the Dover sole and the soufflés

Del Posto! I had lunch there yesterday and it was absolutely amazing. Service was elegant and not overbearing. The dining room is gorgeous. Can't go wrong.

FYI you can get an extra pasta dish for another $10 at Del Posto. That's not mentioned on the menu. Do a search here for posts on lunch at Del Posto for more details.

Thanks for the ideas. I was also thinking about Toqueville. Any thoughts on that?

Tocqueville is quite good but unlike Jean Georges, you'll be limited to two selections per course for the prix fixe lunch.

Regulars on this board know that Tocqueville is one of our favorites. Superb cuisine, a very good wine list, excellent service, and one of the most beautiful dining rooms in the city. You cannot go wrong with the 3-course lunch prix-fixe for $29. We've had many of them, and they are always delicious. However, at our most recent lunch, we had the 5-course tasting menu for $68. A steal for such fabulous food.

Bouley is an excellent recommendation. Last week I had another magnificent dinner at Bouley.
