North Jersey Beer Flights / Samplers

I have a friend who is trying to get into beer but his opinion is that all beers taste the same. To remedy this situation I'll like to take him to a place that offers a profuse, diverse quantity of beers served in small glasses. Does anyone have any recommendations for pubs or breweries that serve beer flights or samplers in North Jersey.

Thanks

The Cloverleaf Tavern in Caldwell has become an outstanding beer bar, and they do various flights. They have just recently tapped Leffe Brown, Ommegang Gnomegang & Long Trail Triple Bag, and they have a continual rotation of over 20 drafts and a lot more in bottles.

The Front Porch in Hawthorne has an extensive beer selection as well.

Sublime in Gladstone is going to start doing "flights" as of next month. And they always have a great selection of micros on tap.

The best beer bar in NNJ is the Coppermine Pub in North Arlington. Don't know about small glasses, but they will usually give you a taste before you buy a glass. Knowledgeable staff and a great, rotating selection.

If you head down south, the Office in Montclair, Maloney's Pub in Matawan, and Jack's in Long Branch all offer samplers and very large beer on draft selections.

The Office has several locations. Depending on what part of North jersey you're from, one should be convenient. (I'm most familiar with the one in Ridgewood.) And they definitely do flights.

I'm compelled to note that the Office in Ridgewood often smells like filthy stale beer, and other stale stuff, and is not a place I'd go to when learning about beer. A block away at Park West Tavern is a good choice if in the area.

                JV vs Varsity.

I'm pretty sure the Morris Tap & Grill on Rt.10 in Randolph does flights.

The Long Valley Brew Pub is your spot...a nice ride out west and a first rate beer flight.

Trap Rock Restaurant & Brewery always has a diverse selection and offers sampler flights. We haven't been up there in a while, but recent reviews on other sites are positive.

Bistro 55 might still be doing flights.

Exactly the rec I was going to make--and they still were offering them a month ago.

I couldn't tell you if they serve samplers or flights (never been my kinda thing), but you just have to get him to Andy's Corner Bar in Bogota, by far the best beer bar in the area.

Also- if you feel like crossing into Rockland, Defiant Brewery in Pearl River usually has a number of different styles on tap.
