hamburger habit review

i was going to go to san francisco saloon for a burger last night but talked my boyfriend into trying hamburger habit on sepulveda and national. the place is clean as a whistle and that's even their motto that it's so clean you can eat off the floor. but the food was nothing special. frozen unseasoned burgers way overcooked. even the grilled onions were bland. their fries were decent and probably the thickest chocolate shake i've ever had. although it wasn't made to order, it came out of a machine. the best thing about this joint is the prices. i've leanred my lesson, san francisco saloonor the shack for burgers.

SF Saloon also has great grilled chicken nachos. but you have to make sure to order grilled chicken or you get this nasty spicy chicken stuff.

yup-used to be ok, back when you could order a beer with the combo. Now it just plain sucks. If ya can't even season the fries let alone the burger.....they get the cooks they pay for.

I went to Hamburger Habit tonight as The Apple Pan was closed. I ordered the #4 some sort of chili burger, which was rather bland and veered on gross. Luckily there was ketchup within easy reach. The Coca-Cola was quite tasty though.

SF Saloon has good burgers? Didn't know that. Any particular recs? Cosidering I'm there like every Sunday during football season, I can't believe I've missed this... too involved in beer and football I guess... haha.

            SF Saloon has excellent hamburgers.

But they also have (probably) my favorite turkey burger -- and I order turkey burgers almost every where I go.

Be that as it may, their burgers are pretty straightforward, nothing really "gourmet" about them.

I order mine with bacon and grilled onions (plus the regular lettuce, tomato, pickles).

They have good fries, too, but I really like the freshness of their dinner salad.

My regular meal there is a turkey burger or hamburger with bacon and grilled onions with a side salad instead of fries.

Not sure, but I don't think so.

I can't agree more with this review. Hamburger Habit has those great TV adds and we used our discount coupons, but neither one of us thought enough of the place to go back. Exactly how long ago was it "voted the best"?? Life is too short for bland food.
