Fresh Masa

I'm wondering if anyone had tips on where to buy fresh masa. I haven't come across it in the Mexican grocers I've been to in the Italian market, but it's possible I've overlooked a place that carries it.

lowereastrittehouse, when you say fresh masa, do you mean masa dough from masa harina flour or by grinding nixtamal corn and creating fresh masa. If the later, I haven't found it except in Queens NY at Tortillieria Nixtamal. Love to know. I asked at Tortilleria San Roman in the Italian market and they told me they use the flour. Though I have to say there was a language issue, so I might have misunderstood. Here is a brief reivew I did of them if you are interested: http://www.alonnazone.com/gathering/e...

asmith, indeed, I'm referring to the freshly ground masa, not that reconstituted from masa flour.

Good luck! I'd love to get my hands on fresh masa here in Philly.

Did you ask at Tortilleria San Roman?
