Sri Lankan Cinnamon

Just got some ground cinnamon from Sri Lanka. It has a bland taste and almost none of the spicy bite that cinnamon usually has. Do I have stale stuff?

sri lankan cinnamon (true cinnamon) has a different, milder flavor profile from the cassia and other cinnamon that is more usually used in the US. the true cinnamon is preferred in Europe.
